Themes: Reducing Pollution; Making Rivers More Natural; Access and Recreation

Objectives:

  • By 2021, water quality in the Brent catchment has improved and has a ‘moderate’ ability to support wildlife
  • Transforming up to 10 kilometres of heavily modified river to a more natural condition by 2021
  • Creating or improving 12 miles of riverside access for walking, cycling and the disabled throughout the catchment

Project description

Stanmore Marsh is a £350k project funded by the London Borough of Harrow and the Big Green Fund, creating wetlands as part of a flood storage project at Stanmore Marsh, contributing to putting mitigation measures in place and to improvements in the status of invertebrates, macrophytes and water quality elements in Edgware Brook.
