9. Queensbury Recreation Ground River Restoration

Themes: Reducing Pollution; Making Rivers More Natural

Objectives:

  • By 2021, water quality in the Brent catchment has improved and has a ‘moderate’ ability to support wildlife
  • Transforming up to 10 kilometres of heavily modified river to a more natural condition by 2021

Project description

The Kenton Brook has been restored bringing its meandering channel into the park as a feature creating a better habitat for wildlife and an improve green open space for people to enjoy. The project brings flood storage capacity benefits as well as improved water quality through engagement with Thames Water misconnection identification team.
