19. River Brent Clitherow Loop Improvements at Boston Manor Park

Objectives:

  • By 2027, it will have a ‘good’ ability to support wildlife
  • Transforming up to 10 kilometres of heavily modified river to a more natural condition by 2021
  • Creating or improving 12 miles of riverside access for walking, cycling and the disabled throughout the catchment

Project description

In parallel with Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) proposals for 17th century Boston Manor and Boston Manor Park, complementary river enhancement works are in preparation to improve the health of the River Brent where it forms the historic Clitherow Island meander loop (Clitherow Loop) within the park.
